In the state of Illinois there has been a real backup in terms of getting any kind of gambling expansion passed in the state. There has been gambling expansion legislation that has been sitting in the state legislature but has not been able to get any traction. But if the legislation does pass, harness racing at the Illinois State Fairgrounds could be expanded. Not only that, but the House feels that there is a good chance that online gambling could be added to the mix.
Let’s face it, but there are plenty of online blackjack sites like www.onlineblackjack.co.uk that can be gone to already, but if the state can get something together they are going to find that they have the ability to be hugely successful with the site. There are those that think that they can’t see past the goal of getting slot machines in, and that considering online gambling is putting too much out there too soon – but others disagree. They say that instead of coming back to revisit the gambling legislation that you would need in order to pass online gambling separately from slots would simply take up more time. This way they can basically kill two birds with one stone.
However, the governor, Pat Quinn, has been against the slots at the track for he thinks that they will take too much revenue away from the casinos that the state already has. But with the Department of Justice basically giving the go ahead to bring in online gambling on the state level, there are many that think that striking while the iron is hot is the thing to do. They want to see slots at the track, but even more so they would love to be the first state to offer intrastate online gambling to their blackjack and casino game loving patrons.
